Stories Of Sodor Wiki

Sodor Shorts are a collection of videos produced by Victor Tanzig on his YouTube channel of the same name. They feature characters from his main series, The Stories of Sodor, but are not canon with the series, and have no effect on the overall plot.

Content[]

Sodor Shorts usually include a series of comic events, jokes, arguments about TV/Film/Pop Culture that feature the engines of the Island of Sodor. They also may be a short story about a new engine (e.g. Marc). They are made for fun and are aimed to entertain viewers between episodes of the Stories of Sodor.

Trivia[]

  • The following shorts were originally apart of another series called "Sodor Snippets", but Victor had an epiphany, realizing they are not that different from Sodor Shorts, only they were a little shorter. As such, they were all moved to Sodor Shorts. Found (deleted), Cancelled, Irony, Money, Banished, Job, Joke, Persuade, Father, Catfished, Truth, Dare, Honest, Meta, Incarcerated, Adjusted, Organs, Names, Ugly, Appearances, Windfall, Bandwagon and Valentine.
  • Sodor Shorts have a number of running gags, including:
    • Gordon hating on French people
    • Engines arguing about Pop Culture
    • Eric being a lethal chef
    • Whiff being a mad scientist
    • Douglas in a pink coat of paint
    • Percy having an OnlyFans account
    • Duck's uncontrollable hunger for money
    • Thomas being dead (since Fallout)
    • Geoffrey being possessed by a demon and transforming into his Satanic alter-ego Fred.
    • Gordon converting to Islam. (Propaganda, Obese and Police)
    • Reginald being unfaithful to Samantha.
    • A character being shot but being missed every time.
    • A character questioning the plot of the short, and another character responding with "Plot convenience".
    • And the most well-known one where Percy appears out of nowhere shouting "Guys!" and a character (usually Edward or sometimes Gordon) saying "Percy, don't do that!".
  • Several Sodor Shorts contain larger plots expanded through multiple shorts, including:
    • Percy realizing what Meta means, which leads to him committing a crime (burning down a church), and ending up in Rail Gate Prison with Peter. (Meta-Adjusted)
    • Ugly Bob's plot arc. (Names-Windfall)
    • Sodor needing a new government system after an experiment conducted by Whiff causes the Sodor Council members to perish. (Subject-Anarchy)
    • Rosie becoming pregnant, and James having to raise their child alone after Rosie is arrested for murdering Bruce and Duck. (Surprise-Adulthood)
    • Gordon struggling to pay his bills, and so unsuccessfully tries to become a criminal and rob Reginald and Molly. (Bills-Outcry)
    • Toby having a near miss (and later an accident) with a breakdown crane arm facing directly at him, thanks to the actions of an incompetent signalman, leading Sir Topham Hatt to literally fire the signalman, which in turn triggers a group of workmen to avenge him by attempting to kill their controller, which eventually succeeds after many failed attempts. (Phew-Assassination)
    • The engines deciding who will be the next controller in Sir Topham Hatt's place as a result of his death due to the events mentioned above. (Dibs-Selection)
    • Thomas becoming the controller and making terrible choices. (Incentive-Propaganda)
    • Duck trying to over-monetise the channel and eventually getting hunted down by Tony the P36. (Sued-Framed)
    • Gordon becoming as stupid as Eric due to brain damage caused by a steel girder puncturing his smokebox. (Uh-Oh-Damage)
    • Diesel prank calling Percy and worrying about his payback on him. (Backfire-Payback)
  • The shorts from Overreaction to Assassination do not have any dialogue whatsoever, and usually involve a character or two holding a wooden sign with a different word or phrase on it, depending on the short's plot. This is possibly due to Victor Tanzig currently working on a new project, entitled The 345 Podcast.
  • Until Monster, the shorts were known as "milestone videos".
